E is for Excessively Large Luggage

Note to self: Next time you take a month long trip, don't pack 30 minutes before you leave, and give some thought to your choice in luggage.

Instead, I grabbed the first bag I saw and stuffed it full of non-dirty cloths. #regrets

On a less serious note, Nick and I traveled to Belém outside of Lisbon this morning and saw a monument to the conquest of the Native Americans, I mean to European superiority, I mean to the glory of exploration.

Continuing on that theme, we went to the cathedral containing the tomb of Vasco de Gama. This is what he looks like. Pretty bad for a 550 year old.

In the afternoon, we traveled to Lagos, in the south or Portugal. Great beaches and resort town stuff here, and our awesome Airbnb which will be featured more tomorrow.
